The same happened with me, except with my cat. It was almost two years ago now, and has been almost that long since I first saw this video, but i still cry.
I can say as a jaded internet veteran, I can say this made me cry a single tear. Not much for most of u lot, but that’s quite a bit for me. I think it’s because I myself have a very, very old dog who doesn’t have that long left, so this touched me.
But holy shit greatest usage of Doctor Mario music ever.

I’ve seen this video more than five times, and I thought I would finally not cry, but I.. I just lost my dog, too, so I guess it really struck home. It’s nice 2 finally be able 2 cry, even though my dog died in a much more brutal way.
